Allison Dutter
Allison sings soprano and loves to add a bit of embellishment to our music! She is very instrumental in teaching new music to the group. Allison has attended the Steve Hurst School of Music in 2001, and in 2006-2009. She is a personal trainer and a substitute teacher. Songfest was wonderful! Half Dome was... wonderful... maybe a week after it was over! :)
2. What is something that makes you say "Ahhhh"?
Clean sheets, a cute apron, any Emilie Loring book, a good song, neat bookshelves in my classroom, Billy Collins poetry, afternoon naps, summertime, and Simon & Garfunkel!
3. Name your favorite restaurant.
Dewz - you simply must try the New York steak!!
4. What CD are you currently listening to?
Simon & Garfunkel, Celine Dion Greatest Hits, Talley Trio, Karen Peck, Neil Diamond...
5. Imagine you've been offered tickets to the concert of your dreams. Who will be on the stage?
I would have loved to fly to Las Vegas to see Celine Dion's show! Melissa Brady and Lauren Talley gave it rave reviews.
6. What is your worst household task?
It would have to be searching for the dead mouse in my closet!!! That was probably the worst thing I've ever had to do in-house!
7. What is one of your favorite vegetables and how do you like it prepared?
It would NOT be cafeteria squash! But I do love zucchini - prepared in squash patties with Bisquick and fried on a summer night.
8. Where are you often found on a Saturday night?
At church, at the movies, or out to dinner - with my Neil!!! :)
9. Who was one of your most influential teachers, and why?
Mr. Edward Gish - because he brought every day life into the classroom (or took us outside the classroom!), and Mr. Jim Blair - because he is incredibly wise.
10. Share a Bible verse or passage that has spoken to you recently.
I just reread Psalm 27 the other night. I think it's definitely one of my favorites. Verse 13: "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living".

I am never without my cellphone. It is never turned off, only turned to vibrate.

8. What is one of your favorite movies? Why?
I loved the movie "Singin' In The Rain", because the acting is superb, the songs are well-written, and who doesn't think Gene Kelly is cute?? I also love "To Kill A Mockingbird", because I absolutely LOVE the book, and Gregory Peck plays his character so well in the movie.

My favorite place to study the Bible is in a coffee shop on a Saturday morning.

10. Share something God has shown you recently.
God is teaching me that I need to be more aware of people's needs, and diligently work to meet them when I can. I am working on being less selfish and more caring of others.

I have so many favorite books. Here are a few of them: Mrs. Frisbee and the Rats of Nimh, Bridge to Terebithia, From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, Tale of Despereaux, Uncle Tom's Cabin, An Old-Fashioned Girl, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Last Sin Eater, Life Is So Good, and To Kill A Mockingbird.

12. If you have a free hour in your day, how are you most likely to spend it?
A free hour in my day?!?!?!?!?!??! Do those things actually happen?? HAHAHA! If I do happen to get a free hour, I'll usually spend it sleeping, reading, or doing the crossword puzzle.

I've been listening to a mix of old country stuff like The Gatlin Brothers, Oak Ridge Boys, Reckless Heart, New Grass Revival, Brad Paisley, and Josh Turner.

14. What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast?
Breakfast usually consists of cereal or toast with a glass of juice. However, if I could have ANYTHING, it would be an egg mixture of eggs, sausage, spinach, and feta cheese.
